Syracuse Attractions

In this wonderful city you can breath a Greek atmoshpere. The Greek origin are today visible and the shows of INDA (Istituto nazionale Dramma Antico) are the best way to live again the Greek ancient culture.

What to see

-Greek Theatre dated at V BC.

-Ortigia island, the place of the first Syracuse settlement.
This is the centre of the city, containing the Dome’s church, wich inside is possible to see the rests of the ancient Atena temple of V BC. Other things to see are the Aretusa fountain and Maniace castle.

-In the mainland other suggestive attracions worth a visit, such as archaeological site with rests of Roman and Greek period in Piazza della Vittoria.

Other ancient ruins are: Terme, Foro siracusano (the ancient Agorà, the main square of the Greek cities).

All these attraction are easy to reach, because are immersed in the centre of the city.
Syracuse is very small, and a tour bike of its attraction could require not nore of two days.
