Acicastello

A fisherman village famous for its Norman Castle from wich take its name
An important summer resort, in the last year its seafront is become a bicycle path.
The way is open to car traffic, but the crow of bikers, families and joggers brake the traffic making this way more safe.

Visit the Norman Castle dated at XI century. Inside it you will find a museum of prehistorical human rests and other ancient objects.

A hearsay about an ancient castle can’t be ignored: some people tell about some strange paranormal phenomenon such as phantom and strange unexplainable sounds.

Acitrezza, it is a part of Acicastello municipality

Famous for the setting Giovanni Verga writer’s “I Malavoglia”, this is today one of the most croweded summer resort of east Sicily

Worth a visit Lachea island, part of the small archipelago on the coast.
A legend tells us that this big rocks were hurled by Polifemo against Ulisse.
On Lachea island there is studies centre of biology and marine physic.

Many tourists bike along its magnificent seafront, 2 Km long. There isn’t a real cycle track, but the road is anyhow suitable for biking.

Acireale

Acireale is the largest village of Catania province

Visit its baroque urban structure such as the Dome and Corso Umberto, the main street of the city.

Acireale is a splendid summer resort, in fact its suburbs are on the coast and house many summer structures. Visit Santa Tecla, Stazzo, Pozzillo, fisherman places where tasting sicilian fish dinner

Worth a visit “Timpa di Acireale”, the lava coast the face the sea from an altitude of 80 metres. Here ar visible natural sprigs such as Acqua del Ferro.

Folklore is the more intresting thing here in Acireale, thank to the Carnival that take place every year: float and masquerade ball are the destination of people of all Catania province.
